1. Apply through the general admission process, be accepted, and commit to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø by submitting your deposit.

3. Submit documentation of a disability. Students are strongly encouraged to upload their disability documentation while completing their DRC Student Application.
   
   
4. A DRC staff member will contact you to schedule your Initial Intake Appointment to discuss your request for accommodations/services. This appointment is REQUIRED to complete the process of registering for accommodations/services.

The Disability Resource Center is located on the second floor of Guerrieri Student Union Building, room 229 at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø ().

While enrolled students can register with the DRC at any time, incoming first-year and transfer students are encouraged to register the semester prior to their first semester at SU. Students will be eligible to register with the DRC once they have “fully committed” to the University (deposit paid).  

No. Students requesting accommodations for standardized exams such as the Praxis, GRE, and LSAT must request reasonable accommodations directly from those entities. Please be aware that accommodations approved by DRC are not automatically guaranteed on standardized exams.

The DRC offers one-on-one academic-skill building to assist students in dealing with academic concerns including time-management, study skills, test-taking strategies, and organizational methods, among other things. The DRC also offers intake sessions, consultations, outreach programs and initiatives, and a Socializing skills group.

If you are not a registered student with the DRC, you may schedule a consultation appointment via phone (410-543-6087) or in-person in the Disability Resource Center (Guerrieri Student Union room 229).

Any SU student with a documented disability and sufficient documentation from a professional are eligible to register for services. (See FAQ 12 for sufficient documentation criteria).

No. While the DRC may consider these types of documents as sufficient documentation in some cases, it is not guaranteed that a student will receive accommodations in college because they had them in high school.

No. Disclosure of a disability and reasonable accommodations/services are considered confidential and will not be noted on a student’s transcript or permanent record.

Students must sign a release of information for their parents if they would like any information to be shared. Releases can be signed and submitted through the DRC online portal or email disabilitysupport@salisbury.edu.

Documentation of a disability may include assessments, reports and/or letters from qualified health care providers, psychologists, or diagnosticians and/or information from a previous school. For additional information, please review the DRC Documentation Criteria (PDF).
